MOVE To Be Fit is sponsoring the First Annual Newcastle Duathlon set for April 21, 2012 with 9:00am start.
“Duathlon is a run bike run event. It’s as simple as that. You run. Then you bike. Then you run.” says David Vaughan. He is an elite Duathlon athlete who maintains a blog on the subject.
SATURDAY, APRIL 21ST
Walk-Ride-Walk:
1-mile walk, 5-mile ride, 1-mile walk
This course offers some flat and hilly asphalt and some paved Lake Washington bike trails. The last 1-mile walk is on Newcastle Trails system leading back to Lake Boren Park.
Run-Ride-Run:
3-mile run, 10-mile ride, 3-mile run
This course offers hilly, paved bike lanes between Newcastle and Northeast Renton, and some paved Lake Washington bike trails. The last 3-mile run is on Newcastle Trails system leading back to Lake Boren Park.
